Katie Landers has been with Slip Robotics for two and a half years, working as a Senior Industrial Engineer. Her role is anything but monotonous. One day, she’s ensuring parts are available and systems are in place; the next, she’s optimizing inventory and finding creative solutions to new challenges. Katie wears many hats, and each day brings new adventures. She’s our go-to problem solver.
Katie’s job is making sure SlipBots get made efficiently. She finds and fixes weaknesses in current processes to save time and resources. Each day is a new puzzle. Katie enjoys the variety of daily challenges as they keep her on her toes and never bored.
Recently, Katie has been knee-deep in inventory optimization. She’s been figuring out where to place parts, ensuring labels and locations are clear, and refining the process for receiving parts and setting up bulk storage. Katie’s hands-on approach has given her valuable insights, making her the master of all parts on site.
One of Katie’s most memorable moments at Slip Robotics was when the team moved to a new office. Katie brought in Paw Patrol walkie-talkies to communicate with the production manager through the walls. This playful idea quickly escalated when our CEO bought a 24-pack of walkie-talkies for everyone in the office, leading to a brief period where walkie-talkies were the preferred mode of communication. For a while, the office was like a scene out of a spy movie.
Slip Robotics has been a great place for Katie’s professional growth. The startup environment means there’s plenty of room for innovation. Katie has learned to prioritize tasks and take the initiative to solve problems herself rather than waiting on someone else to do it.
Katie is excited about seeing production grow and developing systems that streamline information flow. As the company scales, these systems will become crucial in managing the increased complexity.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys painting, watching TV, and playing video games. Her current favorite is "Oxygen Not Included," a resource management game that amusingly parallels her job. Katie’s favorite TV show is "Arrested Development," and she enjoys making fun of "The Bachelorette," balancing her love for reality TV with a good dose of humor. Her hobbies prove she’s as strategic in her downtime as she is on the job.
Katie’s vibrant personality and dedication make her an invaluable member of the Slip Robotics team.
