Meet The Team: Dan Dziak
July 29, 2025

Since Dan Dziak joined Slip Robotics, he’s jumped headfirst into CAD models, panel and battery redesigns, and keeping the coffee industry afloat. A powerhouse of creativity and efficiency, Dan brings a fresh perspective to our mechanical design team, focusing on making things as sleek and straightforward as possible.
Dan's typical day at Slip Robotics begins quietly-until it doesn't. He arrives early, checks in on what happened at customer sites the night before, and then jumps headfirst into CAD work. If Dan isn’t at his desk, you will probably find him out in the R&D lab building some new design. He likes to take a very hands on approach to his designs.
According to him, “You learn the most about what you did wrong the first time you try to build something new. I think it is very important to build what you design and not just throw it over the wall. You will never get better if you don’t know what isn’t working”. It’s not just about learning either, “That moment when everything just clicks into place and works is what I keep chasing. It’s very fulfilling when you iterate your design and get it just right.”
Before joining Slip, Dan's career took some unexpected turns. He's gone from designing electric motors to baby products - yes, strollers and high chairs were once his domain - and now to robots. Each step has been a leap into the unknown, but that's how he likes it. He thrives on new challenges and is always looking to expand his skill set, which is why Slip Robotics is a perfect fit for him. The constant innovation keeps him on his toes and he's excited to see what's next.
Outside of work, Dan's life is just as dynamic. He's a hockey enthusiast who regularly hits the rink to blow off steam. When he's not on the ice, he is most likely with his wife Kate cheering on their three boys at a lacrosse game or hockey game, sometimes all in the same weekend. With what little time is left over, he will probably be tinkering with his Oldsmobile Cutlass or working on his basement renovation project, where he enlists his kids as (semi-willing) assistants in the name of family bonding and home improvement.
Dan is also a huge fan of Kurt Vonnegut, whose satirical and thought-provoking style resonates with Dan's own worldview. Whether he's laughing at Vonnegut's sharp wit or having deep conversations with his boys about music, Dan is all about finding the deeper meaning in life's everyday moments-without taking things too seriously.
So there you have it: Dan Dziak, mechanical design engineer, classic car enthusiast, and hockey fanatic. He's got a lot on his plate, but with coffee in hand and a CAD file open, there's nothing he can't tackle. Stay tuned to see what he comes up with next-it's bound to be both practical and pretty darn cool.
